Nice. I'm currently in possession of one for sharpening and I was blown away by the feel of the blade. If I only looked at the blade i would have sworn it was an evolution/motohara LMC. Feels just like one in hand. Can't wait to cut with her. Great review.

It definitely looks like a decent sword. I really like that the Eto Wrap looks tightly worked on. All in all it looks like it is made well. P.S the chickens in the video are a great addition. For anyone who has not checked out his UA-cam page, please give it a check. There is lots of content for everyone. The steel looks like it is done well and made well for cutting.

The average tang in a katana is about 2 inches to keep the blood from running into the same. The reason the tang is all of 2 inches is that the stubs is constructed of fiberglass and hand crafted in Japan to make sure that the taper of the spine is brittle and easy to warp. In these Japanese sword there is also bohi.

Nice...For me the first great ninja movie was The Octagon in 1980. Chuck Norris, Tadishi Yamashita, and the great Richard Norton. Like all 1980s movies, the writing, effects and a lot of the acting was just laughable but the last 45 minutes or so is just GOLDEN. It's still my favorite...

This was quite helpful, I can see the respect the class has for Mister Norcross. It is nice to see the art of the samurai still alive and people able to learn through UA-cam. Thank you sir and to your class. I am fairly new to this art form, all though it is helping my disability and mind. I look forward to another video. I tend to watch the videos on my smart TV and I use my phone to comment and like. Though I continue to find inner peace through yourself and your class videos.

Ha. Yes. We ran out of individual bo to use for every person, so a few had to "shadowbox" with their bokken. Each person does get a bo to use as soon as participants are broken off into pairs to practice (all of the training you don't see on film), in between stopping class to instruct. That spinning would obviously not work with a blade.

That was pretty awesome to see you with mr.hayes. I have a couple of these musha black yoga ninjatos and they have this very strong black finish on the blades, so this morning I took one and took sandpaper to the blade and got the a very unique looking blade. Kinda like Damascus steel but satin like finish. Don't worry the blade is fine lol.

9:47 Grabbing here is kind of unnecessary in my opinion because the guy with the katana has already used all of his power to cut (you can see him leaning forward after he makes the strike). He can’t do anything at this point, so you really don’t need to grab his sleeve in order to have full control of the strike. If he had enough energy left, he could just pull the sai guy’s hand with his arms and then throw the sai guy off balance and strike again. If you do plan on grabbing your opponent’s sleeve while they’re off balance to strike, you’ll have to be quick with it because you don’t know if your opponent is quick with recovery. So in short, Just striking only is way faster than grabbing and then striking.

Thanks to our less than peaceful times in the last couple decades, I now realize they were too bored at times during the Edo Period... That, or we've stressed points we found in what written documentation exists, more than they ever/usually did at the time. Or I'm underestimated how detailed and ceremonial certain Japanese upper classes will make any given thing, especially when so isolated for so long.
